“I used to be stuck in a nonstop cycle of working part-time about 4 hours a day just to keep up with my school expenses. I was always running between work and studies, with barely any time left to rest or focus on my future. Now, instead of constantly stressing about finances, I can focus on my studies and internship, and I even have time to take care of myself. It honestly feels like there is nothing holding me back anymore.”

Wei Ting Tan

Psychological Science, Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), Singapore

“Before this, I was struggling to continue my studies. My job became unstable and my family could no longer support me, and other funding applications kept getting rejected. I even thought I might have to go back to Myanmar and stop studying. Then I got an email saying I was accepted for funding, and the relief was overwhelming. Today, I’m still pursuing my studies and working toward my goals.”

Thada Nay Linn

Bachelor of Arts in Education, Mahachulalongkornrajavidayalaya University, Thailand

“PIF gives me the peace of mind to focus fully on my maritime studies and reach graduation without constant financial worry. Knowing I have this support pushes me to work harder, so I can enter the workforce, take on financial responsibility for my family and my father’s medical care, and pay it forward to empower the next generation of students.”

Shawn Gabriel Pascual

Bachelors in Marine Engineering, MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy in the Philippines

“As an international student, I didn’t have many ways to pay for my Master’s. PIF stood out because it isn’t a loan with fixed monthly repayments and interest. Paying it forward through a share of my future income felt manageable, and I like that it helps fund other students after me. The funding came right when I needed it and took a lot of pressure off, so I could focus on my studies. ”

Danish Gupta

Masters of Business Management, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)

“I chose PIF because I see more purpose in it. My future contributions can help another student pursue their education, so the support keeps going. It has taken a lot of financial pressure off me while I study part-time and work full-time, so I can focus on finishing my degree and moving toward better career opportunities. I’d recommend it to other students because it’s not only about receiving help, but eventually giving back too.”

Zulhilmi Sulaima

Bachelors of Supply Chain Management, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)

Quick Answers

Pay-It-Forward (PIF) is an income share agreement that covers your education costs upfront, so you can focus on studying without financial pressure. After graduation, contribution begins once you start earning, and you simply contribute a small, agreed percentage of your monthly income for a set period of time.

You may apply if you are 18 years or older, able to understand English, and in need of financial support to pursue or continue your education. All applications are subject to eligibility review.

PIF helps cover essential student expenses so you can focus on your studies. This includes academic costs like tuition, enrollment, program fees, and required learning materials, as well as everyday living expenses such as food, transportation, and basic personal needs. It may also support housing costs, including dorm fees, rent, or approved accommodation during your studies.

No. PIF is neither a traditional scholarship nor a loan. It provides upfront funding for your studies, and after graduation, you contribute a small percentage of your income for a set period once you start earning.

The application is free to submit and fully online. Just complete the form on our website to get started.

Before applying, please prepare the following: • Completed Application & Budget Form – Fill out all required details accurately and completely. • Valid ID (Student or Government ID) – Any official ID showing your full name (e.g., student ID, national ID, or passport). • Proof of Enrollment or Admission – An official document confirming you are currently enrolled in or accepted by your school. • Character Reference – A person who can vouch for your character and may be contacted during the review process (make sure they're informed and agree to be listed).
